Prayer Vigil - August 23

On Wednesday, August 23, St. Matthew will be open for quiet prayer time from 5:00-7:00pm. You are encouraged to stop by for some time with the Lord. Resources to help guide your prayers will be available for those who would like them. You can come and pray for our congregation and our members, those affected by recent tragedies (such as the fires in Hawaii), or for any personal needs.

Maui Wildfire Relief

The island of Maui, Hawaii recently endured one of the worst natural disasters in recent American history ... We pray for the many who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, livelihoods, and more in the devesatating wildfires. The California, Nevada, and Hawaii District of our Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod is active in relief efforts. You can learn more and donate by clicking here. An additional Recognized Service Organization of the LCMS, Lutheran Church Charities, is also serving in Hawaii. (LCC is most known for their Lutheran Comfort Dogs ministry.) 2023 Fall Kick-Off Meal

Please plan to join us on Sunday, September 10, 2023. We'll have Bible study and Sunday school at 9:00am, introducing our plans for fall for both of these groups. After our 10:00am worship service, we'll share in a "Fall Kick-Off Meal." This will include a grill-out and potluck. Hamburgers, hotdogs, condiments and buns will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring something to share for the meal. We look forward to growing in Christ with you this fall at St. Matthew!

Meetings in August

"Ministry Clarity" Strategic Planning: Thursday, August 10 at 6:30pm. Meet in the Fellowship Hall at church or contact pastor for the Zoom link. Ministry Clarity is a congregational planning process facilitated by the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF).

Outreach Committee: Brenda Roisen, our new chairperson for Outreach, has scheduled a meeting on Saturday, August 12 from 2-4pm. Any interested members are welcome to attend. Please contact the church office for meeting location and details.

Property Discussion: Sunday, August 13 after the worship service. All members who are interested in our property upkeep are welcome to attend and share in the discussion. Following the unexpected death of our property chairman, Scott, we would like to begin forming a new Property Committee of several members to oversee the maintenance of the building and grounds as we go forward.

Pictorial Directory Update

The first draft of our new church pictorial directory is available in the church entryway. Please stop and take a look at it on an upcoming Sunday. Please check to make sure your contact information is current and that your birthday and anniversary (if applicable) are listed correctly. If you would like to submit a photo or have a different photo taken, please do so during the month of August. Please contact Debbie Barnes or Pastor Kory with any questions. Thank you!
